












Western Fresh Marketing was formed in 1994 in order to represent
growers of fancy imported and domestic fruits. Over the years we
have added more palate-pleasing delicacies and we market these
bountiful harvests to discriminating, upscale retailers and
wholesalers throughout the United States and Canada.
To meet the demands of the more educated palate and burgeoning
cosmopolitan markets, we have expanded to handle CCOF (Organic)
and Third-Party Tested (Nutri-Clean) produce. We also offer,
custom packaging for retail, club stores, wholesalers and food
service customers.
We have worked hard to earn the reputation of Purveyor of
Freshness and our priorities are to stay on the leading edge of
market trends and to fulfill the needs and desires of our retail and
wholesale customers. Special requests are always welcomed and we
constantly are in search of the new and different fresh produce
item.
Figs - Western Fresh Marketing represents many of California's fig
growers, from the northern-most to the southern-most, as well as
many growers from the San Joaquin Valley. These growers produce,
and we market, Black Mission, Calimyrna, Brown Turkey and Kadota
figs, under a number of labels. The diverse locations of these
ranches allows us to say, "We have figs when no one else does."
Kiwi - From our extensive network of growers around the world,
Western Fresh Marketing is able to provide this very nutritious fruit
every day of the year. Most Kiwifruit comes from California, Chile
and Italy, but from wherever they come, our Kiwifruit is guaranteed
to arrive at the peak of perfection and at competitive prices.
Hawaiian Tropicals - Western Fresh Marketing is the mainland
representative for some of the most quality-conscious growers on
the Big Island of Hawaii. We offer Solo Papaya year-round which is
one of the sweetest and most nutritious papayas grown.
Our fresh Ginger Root is from the fertile Hilo side of the Island and is
cured and packed under the supervision of our inspectors. Western
Fresh Marketing maintains a seasonal office on the Big Island to
ensure the quality of our products and to satisfy the gourmet
market that demands new, fresh and exotic treasures.
Specialty Citrus -Citrus fruits have been cultivated in Sicily for
some time and cultivation has been documented since the time of
Moorish rule.
Our Melogold Grapefruit, Oro Blanco Grapefruit, Murcott Tangerines,
Satsuma Oranges, Blood Oranges, and Cara Cara Oranges are
renowned for their sweetness, flavor, and vibrancy!
Asian Pears -The fruit calls attention to itself with its plump
globular shape and a spectrum of ochre russet to smooth yellow
hues; round like an apple with the skin of a pear. The flavor is
outstanding, suggestive of brown sugar and butterscotch. Asian
pears are firm when ripe and can be stored for months after picking.
They are juicy and flavorful and often make good dessert pears.
Pomegranate Fruit - The pomegranate is native from Iran to
the Himalayas in northern India and was cultivated and naturalized
over the whole Mediterranean region since ancient times.
Pomegranate fruit have a round, spherical shape. Inside, you'll
find dozens of small ruby-colored seeds. The pomegranate fruit
has a citrus flavor and is very juicy. There are many drinks and
even foods that are made with the pomegranate fruit.
Persimmons - Persimmons' origins go back to ancient China.
Fate intervened in the 1880’s when a United States Commander
brought back a native Japanese persimmon variety to Washington,
D.C. Now, persimmons are grown in California where hundreds of
different varieties flourish. This brightly colored, glossy orange red
skinned fruit is an excellent source of vitamin A, a good source
of vitamin C, and rich in fiber.
Sugar Plums - The Sugar Plum needs no introduction. Its
appearance is that of a gigantic purple grape. It is one of the few
plums with a non-bitter skin.
Its golden flesh is followed by nature’s second honey that comes
rushing forward to greet your taste buds with every bite. It has
been said "the rays of the sun have been captured and stored
beneath the flesh" of this singular fruit to only be set free when
tasted.
Garbanzo Beans - Garbanzo beans (also known as Chick Peas)
have a delicious nutlike taste and buttery texture. They provide
a good source of protein that can be enjoyed year-round and are
available either dried or canned.
Oso Sweet Onions - Oso Sweet Onions that are light
golden-brown in color, with a shiny tissue-thin skin and firm, tight,
dry necks. When cut into, Oso Sweet onions will have a creamy
white interior, and a mild aroma.
Today Oso Sweet Onions are available year round with growing and
packing operations in Chile, Texas, Georgia and Peru.
Olives -Fresh olives and natural olive oil, taste great and it's good
for you!
Heart Health and Cholesterol - extra virgin olive oil is high in
polyphenols (a powerful antioxidant) and monounsaturated fa which
contributes to lowering bad cholesterol.
Ginger - Aromatic, pungent and spicy, ginger adds a special
flavor and zest to Asian stir fries and many fruit and vegetable
dishes. Ginger is the underground rhizome of the ginger plant with a
firm, striated texture. Ginger is a good source of potassium,
magnesium, copper, manganese and vitamin B6. Ginger is also
widely believed to have terrific health benefits and is a cornerstone
in herbal medicine.
